ExamGrid is a study app. We collect what is needed to show you your exams, your streak and your rank — and nothing else. We do not show ads, we do not use an advertising ID, and we have never sold user data.
What we collect
| Your Google account: name, email address, profile photo | Signing in with Google is the only way to create an ExamGrid account. Your name appears on leaderboards; you can request a change to it, and you can remove your photo in the app. |
| Optional profile details: college, district, HSC batch year, target universities | Used only to place you on local leaderboards. Every one of these is optional — leave them blank and the app works fully. |
| Your study activity: answers, scores, times, streak, mistakes, saved questions | This is the product. It powers your results, your review screens, your streak and the leaderboards. |
| A push notification token | So we can send exam reminders. Turn notifications off and it is removed. |
| Usage and performance events | Which screens are opened, how long requests take, whether they failed. These carry no message content and no personal details. |
| Crash diagnostics | If the app crashes we receive a technical report so we can fix it. User content is scrubbed from these reports. |
We do not collect your location, contacts, photos, microphone, camera, SMS, call logs, or files, and the app requests no such permission. There is no advertising SDK and no advertising identifier in the app.
Where it is stored
Data is held in our database hosted by Supabase on Amazon Web Services in Singapore (ap-southeast-1). Traffic is encrypted in transit. Sign-in tokens are stored on your device in the Android Keystore.
Who we share it with
We do not sell your data and we do not share it for advertising. It is processed only by the services that make the app run: Google (sign-in), Supabase (database and hosting), Firebase Cloud Messaging (push notifications), and Sentry (crash reports).
Public leaderboards show your display name, your score and your rank to other students. Your email address is never shown to another user. Your college or district appears only on the local leaderboard you chose to join by filling that field in.
Deleting your account
Open the app and go to Settings → Delete account. This deletes your account and your personal data immediately and cannot be undone.
If you no longer have the app installed, see how to delete your account.
Two things intentionally survive deletion, and neither can identify you afterwards: anonymous usage counts (with the link to you removed), and a record that a deletion happened, which we keep so we can prove we honoured the request.
Your other rights
You can ask for a copy of your data from Settings → Export my data, or by emailing us. You can change your display name from your profile. You can turn off any notification category in Settings.
Children
ExamGrid is built for HSC-level admission candidates and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from them. If you believe a child under 13 has an account, email us and we will delete it.
Changes
If this policy changes we will update this page and the date at the top. Material changes will also be announced in the app.
